The church of Ma'ii cares little for evangelism or finding converts, looking instead to perform great rituals and rites in honor of Ma'ii, be it a great deceit, a heist, or a trivial spread of misinformation. The largest thieves guild in Tovangar considers Ma'ii to be their patron, and he embraces them more so out of amusement than loyalty. Known to be cunning, funny, mischievous, and dangerous, Ma'ii should not be taken as lightly as a harmless prank, as he could be either your friend or your enemy. > [!dm] > ### Institutions > There are multiple pontiffs, friendly or otherwise, with subordinate clergy obedient to their own pontiff and cooperative with others. They travel the world, performing acts of chaos and trickery, for better or for worse. Many of Ma'ii's clerics are actually quite well regarded as bright spirits and generous folk, but they should rarely be underestimated.
