The form of the otter.*** Known as the Mother of Magic, she makes possible all the miracles and mysteries wrought by magic and users of magic. She was believed to be the embodiment of the Thread and of magic itself. She is less-so worshiped throughout Caledon, and more greatly revered. Instead of temples, Alil is honored and respected in institutions, academies, and academia, praised by wizards, bards, and any who attempts to tap into the magical world. Statues of Alil are often found in temples dedicated to other gods, such as Hozho or Yona. Alil is known to be one of the single most powerful deities in the pantheon, though she rarely flashes her power. She has a Chosen in the mortal world who wields great magical prowess. > [!dm] > ### Institutions > Clerics of Alil are often isolated ascetics or ritually-separated persons that are expected to keep a distance from the world, oftentimes spending more time tuned into the magical essence of reality, rather than the material plane itself. Alil is known to provide wisdom and insight to those who follow her, and people often pray at statues of her in request of some great miracle. Many non-committed commonfolk find themselves coming to Alil, even if they tend to stray towards a more secular worldview. > > ### Notes > [Additional DM-only information]
