Ajei was a willing sufferer, bearing the pain of others to spare them from it, and it was said that if he had his way, he would do so for all the suffering in the world. Although he is slow to anger, his wrath is terrible in the face of extreme cruelty or atrocities. He takes great care to reassure and protect children and young creatures, and he takes exceptional offense at those who would harm them. Ajei is fairly widely worshiped across [[Caledon]] and [[The World/Regions/Tova|Tova]], primarily in wartorn regions. > [!dm] > ### Institutions > There is a single pontiff with a layer of upper clergy and temple heads beneath them, who have a layer of minor clergy serving them. The church of Ajei does plenty of charity work across the coast, leading to many of the poor and suffering being adherents and clerics. Clerics are chosen from those wishing to commit a life to submission and service to others.
