Dear [[Felicity]], I've done a little digging around in [[The World/Regions/Tova|Tova]] to see if I could help to uncover what Soulfire actually is. No one seemed to be any help. However, the library at the [[College of Tova]] was. I may have wandered in to the forbidden Hall of Saints one night on a stroll. I figured that if any document contained a history on Soulfire, it might be there. I found a old study in there titled *Post Calamitus*. (written by Villuve LaRain, by the way?) Its a treatise about the power structure in the [[Hell]]s that emerged after the gods fell to [[Caledon]]. I've transcribed his excerpt excerpt about Soulfire below. *Soulfire is the eternal bleed of the Prince of the Fifth. It drips from the wall of ice, golden and warm. I can feel his unyielding scream as I observe. Horrible substance. Born from the blood of an ancient fiend, the only way out is to give away the one thing that is truly yours. Or perhaps find a way to give it something greater.* I'll keep digging around to see if I can find any other accounts of Soulfire. Sorry the news isn't more cheery on my end. If you run in to a really, really, really powerful cleric, definitely ask them. Like, Merry times two powerful.
