My Dearest Freya, Today was a weird one, but [[Akicita]] asks for me to protect the innocent…. Our job started the same way many others had, we got a tip about a dragon that was attacking farms on the outskirts of [[The World/Regions/Anasha|Anasha]]. We went and talked to one of the families, a father and two kids. They had lost their mother in the dragon attack, it broke my heart. Now it was up to me (and thank goodness it wasn’t), that would have been that and we’d have been on our way to find the beast. But [[Characters/Merry|Merry Albatross]] and [[Loro]] figured that something wasn’t adding up. Merry decided to dispel magic and it turns out that the ‘family’ were actually shape changers. We made quick work of the impostors and found the real family. Poor folk… after their house burned down and their mother was killed, they had to endure kidnapping and imprisonment. I know I’ve got a soft spot for kids, so impersonatin' and imprisonin' them made me real mad. We found one of the impostors still alive, and after some persuading from [[Felicity Galloway|Felicity]] we had a direction to follow. A day and night passed before we descended a crevice with the prisoner in tow. Then we found him, a massive ancient gold dragon, head bigger than a coal hauler. The prisoner told us that was him, and asked to be freed. But this time it was my turn to have a bad feeling. Why would this dragon, after hundreds of years, suddenly go burnin down a farm house? I channeled Akicita and put the prisoner in a *[[zone-of-truth-xphb|Zone of Truth]],* and I was right to do it. The little bugger had led us astray. This dragon was not the one burnin' down the villages. Loro, brave soul that he is, talked with the dragon and found out the truth of the matter. The gold dragon was the father of the dragon we were hunting. His son, Boromere, had gone bad. Had ambitions to take over the land. This poor dragon had spent years sittin' over his pile of gold, protectin' it from the greed of men and the horrors of his son. Now it was his time. He reached out and, with a claw bigger than my hammer, touched Felicity on the forehead. Gold markings began to wind their way across her shoulder and back. And with that, the dragon disappeared, floating into the air in a million gold shimmers. We didn’t have much time at all to wonder about what just happened. The ground started to shake, the sky darkened, and Boromere's head appeared over the cave. This was the fight we were looking for. He was a tough bastard, and it took everything we had to take him down. But I'm writing this letter to ya, so you know how it went. Now for the interesting part. The golden dragon left more than a tattoo for Felicity. She also left behind an egg. I’ve questioned my interpretation of it plenty of times since, but I think that my oath compels me to watch over this egg until it’s hatched. So that’s where I’ll be. In a cave in Anasha with thousands of coins and a [[Dragon Egg]]. It’s actually quite nice. I’m back underground, which I’ve missed. Me and the rest of the group have built a small hut. We keep the egg warm, and we take turns watching over it. More to come. How are the kids? And how are you and the little one? Hopefully he's not stirrin' up too much trouble in there. I love ya, Freya. May she watch over you. *A note written by [[Characters/Bromel Stonehand|Bromel Stonehand]] to his wife, [[Freya]] on 2 of Kavona, 602 AA.*
