She didn’t have much but the love of her parents and a few street dogs that she would feed her dinner scraps to. When she was seven, she went out to pick up a few potatoes and some lamb from the town square and came home to a grim sight – her parents, murdered, lying in a pool of blood. Shortly thereafter, she was sent to a run-down orphanage by the docks, where she made few friends and plenty of enemies. She was scrappy, and did what she needed to do to get food in her belly – which often upset the other orphans.  Felicity knew she would never make it out of the slums unless she was cunning. She began to steal; an oyster from a street vendor distracted by a paying customer, a couple of silver from the pocket of a drunk, unsuspecting gnome in a busy crowd, a handful of arrows for target practice in the woods. She spent a lot of time alone on the outskirts of Neo, practicing sleight of hand, card tricks, and swordplay by hitting sticks on the trunks of dead trees.  One crisp autumn day, at the ripe age of 15, Felicity was looking for two silver pieces to rub together and she thought she had found the perfect target. A tall old man with a long grey beard, walking with a cane, carrying a small pouch just begging to be stolen. She followed a few footsteps behind him on the winding cobblestone road, waiting for the right moment. No sooner than she began to reach for the bag did she feel a cold steel blade on the side of her neck. She was caught. The old man laughed, pulled his dagger away, and told her she ought to try again. He turned and began to walk away, slowly, chuckling to himself. Felicity, never one to shy away from a challenge, followed again quickly, more quietly this time. She reached again for the bag, and was caught by the wrist. “Once more,” he told her. “But better.” On the third attempt, she managed to slip the bag from his waistband and take off with it. He watched her as she ran into an alleyway. She quickly untied the bag and emptied its contents, dismayed as she watched pebbles clatter onto the cobblestone.  Mixed into the rubble was a note on parchment, that read: “I’ve been watching you. You show promise. Meet me at the docks tomorrow morning. Training begins at dawn.” Intrigued, Felicity found herself at the docks long before the sun came up, hiding under the docks, waiting for the man to arrive. Sure enough, just before the sun crested the horizon, Orel arrived in dark blue robes with two shiny rapiers attached to his belt. She slowly emerged from her hiding spot and approached with unearned confidence. Orel wordlessly handed her a sword and stood at the ready.  Felicity and Orel practiced swordplay for hours that day, and after he felt she had proved her mettle, he offered her a job at the Thieves’ Guild. She accepted. Felicity had not felt so welcomed into any community since she lost her parents. Orel became like a father to her, and she was finally able to put her talents to use. She worked her way up the ranks, and was assigned to an assassin position. Taking out minor lords and nobles who were interfering with the Baron’s vision for Neo, she became an integral part of the underground operation in Neo. She was not without flaws, of course. Still eager to make a penny, she would skim off the top of whatever she was to bring back to the Guild. Much of those earnings were sent to the orphanage where she grew up, keeping just enough to pay for a place to rest her head.  Around Felicity’s 60th birthday, the Baron learned of Felicity’s embezzlement, and did away with her without hesitation. “You’ve made a powerful enemy,” he warned her. She was left with her life, which she considered a kindness. She had seen The Baron’s wrath in full force, and knew that he must have still cared for her if he let her live, unscathed.  She was lost again, with no community, and nowhere to go. She slept in tavern benches, stranger’s beds, and, if it wasn’t too cold, in hay bales behind old barns outside of Neo. One summer day, she learned that the Adventurer’s Guild was seeking recruits. Desperate for a paycheck, she soon found herself in Group 31, alongside Ian Phalin, Owen, Gilsyn, and Flora Deepsil. Again, she found herself in a kind of family. They became confident, and took a high paying mission infiltrating a pirate ship off the docks of Neo. Everyone in her party was captured, but Felicity managed to escape. Devastated once again, she considered if adventuring was the right move for her life. She decided to try once more, and was assigned to [[The World/Factions and Groups/Group 19|Group 19]], where she met [[Aldric Maven|Aldric]], [[Boris Eckhart]], [[Adrian Elbridge|Adrian]], and [[Characters/Merry|Merry Albatross]]. They became fast friends, and adventured together for many months before Aldric and Boris met their untimely ends.  Felicity now continues her adventures with [[The Heroes Guild]], founded in the town of [[The World/Settlements/Goldenheart|Goldenheart]], alongside [[Characters/Bromel Stonehand|Bromel Stonehand]], [[Loro]], Merry, and [[Cicero de Obfucia|Cicero]].
