But when Oskar was killed in a battle at sea, [[Solaria]]'s prestige crumbled, and it became a shadow of its former glory under the young Duke [[Oliver Maven]]. Aldric took great issue with the declining reputation of his family and took matters into his own hands. He signed a pact with [[Zyras]], the Black Veil, filling him with eldritch abilities. With these newfound abilities, [[Aldric Maven|Aldric Maven]] joined [[The Adventurer's Guild]] and [[_GM_1. Player Characters/Group 19/Group 19]]. He is one of the group's most prominent members, although he often hides his crest tattoo with makeup for anonymity. Although he has no direct line to being the Duke of Solaria, Aldric has long plotted a slow rise to power. He would often use the goodwill he curates as an adventurer for his own personal gain.
